The Bavarian traditional company Zwiesel Glas starts the year, as it has in recent years, with two new accolades. First, the glass manufacturer has been named ‘World Market Leader Champion’ in the category of ‘Crystal Glass for Premium Hospitality and Gastronomy’ for the ninth consecutive year by the German business outlet WirtschaftsWoche and the University of St. Gallen. Additionally, the Zwiesel decanter Symbiosis has been awarded the German Design Award 2025 in the category of ‘Excellent Product Design – Tabletop.’

Zwiesel Glas is a repeat winner at the German Design Awards, having claimed a prize for the sixth year in a row. The decanter is traditionally handcrafted and features a distinctive fine crackle pattern. It rests on a similarly handcrafted base made of Finnish soapstone. Produced in a limited edition, the product is priced at €399 per piece – and, as of January 9, 2025, is currently unavailable in Zwiesel Glas's online shop.

"I am proud that the independent and internationally active institution, the German Design Council, has recognized the achievements of our experienced teams and our products with the German Design Award and German Brand Award for several consecutive years," says company owner and board member Prof. Dr. Andreas Buske.
