Pernod-Ricard recently released results for the first quarter of its fiscal year 2006-2007. For the period to the end of September 2006 sales rose 9% over the same
three months last year to 1.457b Euros. Although Europe and in particular France grew by only 5%, the Americas with 10% and Asia with 14% drove this spurt. However, while certain spirits showed impressive growth, wine was down 4%, with both Great Britain and the United States performing poorly, as did on the whole Russia, Thailand, Lebanon and duty free.
