The most recent export statistics released by Wines of Chile, which promote Chilean wines abroad, was received by domestic growers with some relief. Exports in
August 2006 rose by 10.7% in volume and 14.4% in value to $97m (76m ). Although the large stock of bulk wine, which still poses a problem for the industry, saw its exports increase by 5.7%, value fell by 22.1%. Bottled wine, on the other hand, grew by 14.2% in volume and 19.8% in value, reflecting the two widely diverging price points on the market as a whole.
