OVS, the French owner of the Chamarré brand, is on course to sell three million bottles in the United Kingdom by the end of 2006. Chamarre wines currently available in the UK include Bordeaux, Jurancon and Beaujolais, with Cotes-du-Rhone to join in 2007. Vincent Norguet, Chamarre\'s Export Manager for the UK, said that sales here are on target, at one million bottles sold in the eight months since Chamarre\'s launch in February. We are now stocked by Asda, the Co-op, Morrisons, Somerfield and Thresher, Norguet said, and we are hoping for Tesco and Sainsbury\'s before long. If Chamarre succeeds in reaching its three million bottle target, Norguet continued, it will become one of France\'s top five UK brands. OVS is looking for 30 million investment, mostly from private equity companies, to finance its growth in the UK, USA and French markets. Norguet says they hope to have raised one-third of this by the end of the year.
