According to rumours in the France press, the Bordeaux shipper Calvet is up for sale. Calvet´s majority share holder Unicoop H. Mounier is said to have offered its shares to Les Grands Chais de France. For Les Grands Chais de France the acquisition would be ideal. With the Caves de Landiras they already own one of the biggest and most modern bottling lines there. What they need is a brand with international reputation. Last year Les Grand Chais de France failed in their bid to buy shipper Cordier and soon after purchased Dulong. Unicoop H. Mounier, who has been the major shareholder of Calvet since 2003, is known for its Grey Goose vodka.
